When I walked into my first toastmasters meeting I saw a bunch of supportive friendly people who were committed, positive and organised.
I didn’t join immediately, I went back a second time and then to another venue for comparison. The Capalaba club appeared to provide more opportunity for involvement in public speaking and meeting leadership roles.
My participation since has confirmed my initial assessments.
With the knowledge I have gained and the practice of public speaking, I am becoming more confident and self-assured both personally and professionally.
The specifics I have learned are formal speechmaking, impromptu speaking, evaluation of other speeches, and assessment of people.
I have made many interesting friends.
In my workplace I have found my clear-thinking abilities have improved as has my organisational skills. This has led me to be more productive, and more in tune with client’s needs.
My workload has increased, my client base has expanded, and I more clearly understand each of my clients’ needs. Jewell Moore has recognised and acknowledged the increased productivity.
As my toastmaster’s journey continues, I expect further growth.
In conclusion, the focus in toastmaster’s is on their core values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence. These values plus professional expertise underpin the core value of Jewell Moore in building client trust.
